Grieving the Loss of a Loved One? Here are support groups in our area.

Widow and Widower Bereavement Support Group If you have recently lost your spouse, join our widow & widower’s bereavement
support group as we share our thoughts and feelings in a professionally facilitated setting. This group is designed for those 60 years and older.


Sponsored by Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s-Raphael Sacks. Group will meet over 12 weeks supporting one another to help ease the pain.

Samaritan Hospice Grief Support Groups in South Jersey
Samaritan offers a variety of grief support groups throughout the South New Jersey area.
The Grieving Heart – A monthly drop-in group for anyone over 18 who has lost a family member or friend. Meets the 2nd Saturday of every month at 10 AM at Virtua Mount Holly. To register please call 800-596-8550.

Compassionate Friends
A self-help organization offering friendship and understanding to bereaved parents. Their purpose is to promote and aid patents and siblings in the resolution of the grief experiences upon the death of their child. They help foster the physical and emotional heath of parents and siblings. This organization is a non-profit and non-denominational group.

Comforter’s Counseling Center

General Bereavement Support Group meets on the 3rd Wednesday evening from 7:00 – 8:30 PM at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home Levittown (September through May)

Support Group for Widows & Widowers meets six Wednesday afternoons from 1:30 – 2:45 PM in the fall and spring at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home Levittown

Support Group for Widows &Widowers meets six Tuesday afternoons from 1:30- 2:45 PM in the fall and spring at the Koller Funeral Home Roxborough.

General Bereavement Support Group meets on the 1st Wednesday from 7:00-8:30 PM at Lambie Funeral Home Northeast Philadelphia (October through June).

General Bereavement Support Group meets six Tuesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 PM in the fall and spring at St. Luke the Evangelist Chapel House Glenside.


Bereavement Programs Abington Hospital
First Steps: Beginning the Journey – general bereavement support group meets in the evening in the Willowood Building at the Abington Health Center – Willow Grove. The program is educational as well as provides a support component. To attend, please call to register at 215-441-6842.

H.O.P.I.N.G. – Grieving the Loss of a Child.
Camden County Chapter meets the first and third Monday of every month at 7pm in the Barry D. Brown Health Education Center at the old Virtua Hospital (106 Carnie Boulevard, Voorhees, NJ).
